Back with the London Lakers Jr A tier 2 GMHL franchise is 98 Brandon Maio. After coming to us after the Xmas break last year, Brandon was paired up with the GMHL south All Star Goalie Naoki Onodera, Maio got a first hand glimpse of the best work ethic to date of a Hr player. Coach Zehr says “ I have been in touch with Brandon since spring, I encouraged him to take some time off, and when ready start training. Maio, has sent me some video weekly of him training and stopping pucks Versus NHL and AHL players in the Connecticut area, he is looking focused, and is in Great shape”

Newly signed 98 Brendan SeabreeZe Seibert was on our scouting staff radar for quite some time. Here is a young man, who is highly intelligent and again another hard worker and motivated to excel. Scouts for Lakers say “ Solid and quick, a winner, good goalie who will continue to get better within our program”

And the Future, 2000 Monster of a goalie 6”7 210 and growing Morgan Penwell from Muskoka. Morgan played last year in the cchl2 for Athens Aeros. Penwell, is a extremely proud kid with big shoulders and like our staff, has and will continue to stare down adversity and overcome anything. Coach Zehr says “ Morgan comes from a amazing family, this kid is a determined and focused young man, with boat loads of potential to be a Great goalie, not just in Jr but at Pro level For sure.”

54 Hockey inc has held a monthly skate all spring and summer, the Ownership group of the London Lakers, and every skate we have had 8-10 new kids out to see what our staff, and program is like, not just the kids but the parents have been impressed with the improvement they have seen not only on the ice, but off the ice as well. A local parent praised our staff, “ thanks again for working with my boy, he has gained some confidence, he now has found that passion again, and is doing everything in his power to keep making a positive improvement.
