The London Lakers have added another veteran piece to the puzzle signing 1994 born forward Gavin McAughey.
The Gravenhurst, Ontario native finished the season as captain of the GMHL’s Rama Aces last season, where he scored 17 goals and 39 assists for 56 points in only 36 games.
“Gavin adds another veteran presence, and leadership up front,” says Director of Player Personnel and Scouting Ian Kennedy.
“Many teams in this league are what they are today, and will be that way until playoffs, we’re going to get better week by week through internal development, and by adding players like Gavin.”
McAughey is currently studying electrical engineering technology at Fanshawe College in London, taking an accelerated program.
“Gavin is another example of a student utilizing London’s wonderful educational opportunities, and continuing his hockey career here with the Lakers.”
Gavin McAughey will make his London Lakers debut this Friday and Saturday when the Lakers host the Norfolk Vikings at 7:30pm Friday, and head to Komoka Saturday.
