Lakers Sign Veteran Defenseman Brett Dyck

The London Lakers are pleased to announce the signing of veteran defenseman, and London, Ontario resident Brett Dyck.

Dyck, a 1994 born defenseman played two seasons in the GOJHL playing for the Strathroy Rockets, before leading the Exeter Hawks to an SOJHL title last season.

“Brett is another local boy, and brings a veteran presence to our blueline,” says Director of Scouting and Player Personnel Ian Kennedy.

“He’ll make an immediate impact with our team, and will be a leader both on and off the ice this season.”

Last season with Exeter, Dyck had 7 points in 29 regular season games, before playing an integral role in leading the Exeter Hawks to an SOJHL championship, and a berth in the Schmalz Cup.

Dyck, who is a product of the London Jr. Knights ‘AAA’ system will join the Lakers immediately for their home opener Friday against the Halton Ravens at 7:30pm.
