Playing 29 Junior A games last season split between three teams, 6’4″ netminder Daniel Potter will arrive in London this weekend to join the Lakers.
Potter, a 6th round pick of the OHL’s Ottawa 67s in 2012, finished last season with the OJHL’s Wellington Dukes, where he recorded a .900 save percentage and 3.41 goals against average in 10 regular season games, before appearing in 3 playoff games for the Dukes. Potter started the 2015-2016 season with the CCHL’s Smiths Falls Bears before coming to London.
Also joining the London Lakers are tandem Chance McClaine and Chris Armstrong.
McClaine is a 1994 netminder from Pennsylvania, who opened the season with the Brantford Steelfighters before joining the Lakers.
Armstrong, a 1998 born netminder from Cambridge, Ontario, impressed the Lakers staff earlier this month after a strong preseason with multiple Junior teams, earning a contract for the 2015-2016 season.
The trio were signed to join Rio Virgoe and Chance Turner. Turner however is expected to miss most of the next month after suffering an injury early in the Lakers 2015-2016 campaign in a game against the Toronto Blue Ice Jets, where he backstopped London to a 7-5 win.
